HTML Resources - Recommended Reading
The following HTML resources should be helpful in learning about HTML and the use of style sheets. They give additional details not listed here.
- Web Design Group's web page, HTML 4.0 Reference section. It is an excellent reference and is also available in an offline viewable format. This is the best source on the web that I have found describing HTML.
- The World Wide Web Consortium Hypertext Markup Language Home Page. Contains excellent references to multiple sets of HTML documentation including XHTML, HTML 4.01 and older versions. Also links to information about style sheets can be found here along with links to HTML document type definitions (DTDs).
- The World Wide Web Consortium HTML 4.01 Specification.
- The World Wide Web Consortium HTML 4.01 Strict DTD.
- The World Wide Web Consortium HTML 4.01 Transitional DTD.
- Web Design Group's web page, Cascading Style Sheets Guide. It includes a tutorial, information about CSS structure, CSS rules, and how to link style sheets to HTML along with several other references.
- The World Wide Web Consortium CSS Level 1 Recomendation.
- The World Wide Web Consortium CSS Level 1 Specification.
