Design
T260 is without doubt a product where the design has been a major priority for Samsung. Front is a glossy polished plexiplate, sticking a half inch beyond the monitor's body. It is painted black, with a avtoning towards red in the bottom. The foot is a little oval, and is made of glossy polished black plastic. while both the top and bottom curves out from the screen. Samsung logo happens to be in the middle while the lower part is written in a silver color that allows it's in style with Plexi-edges around the screen.
All buttons are located on the side of the screen, and is not visible during use. Frequently used is a very strong indicator light on the screen the page to view the screen is on, but Samsung has finally done something with it. On-button is the "touch"-type, and the lighting is dim red going in style with the red part of the frame. It is, in other words, anything but displeasing, but a delight for the eye. Border to display a relatively great width. Top and bottom frame is somewhat broader. The design has been said that a priority, so if you take advantage of a dual monitor setup, or more, the gap a little large. The precise objectives are the following: 29, 29, 35, 54 mm (H, V, T, B)
Connection
HDMI has begun to get a good foothold among PC monitors. In addition, a monitor of this size easily used for other things than PC, such as game consoles. T260 have this connection, in addition to DVI and the good old D-SUB. The screen also acts as a USB hub that gives you two connection points. The power supply is internal.
Accessories
With the package, there is a manual, installation CD and a polish cover. Of cables as added by Samsung has DVI and D-SUB, but unfortunately no HDMI cable. The latter, one can not expect, but we had not had anything in to get with such a cable - at least for these continued cost some dollars. It also includes a standard power cord, and two cable clip.
Setting Options
Menu
Not only have the screen in itself a nice design, but the menu is also very nice. It is twofold, with the menu to the left and groups of options for the respective groups to the right. Samsung has also pass on and get the text to the groups, so it should not be any doubt about what you're doing. After 20 seconds delay, turn the menu off.
As mentioned on the previous post,that buttons are on the monitor's side. Some of the buttons have different functions. With the top open the menu, and move back in it. The second and third button up and down, while the fourth is used to access the menu. When you do not use the menu, the button No. 4 to search for new connections. Finally, we find a button for automatic adjustment of the screen.
Physical settings
The screen has no more than an ordinary opportunities for adjustment. It is only talk about the rotation and tilt. The foot is not more steady than that it can withstand rising slightly, but with full tilt backwards, the tendency to tilt. It can not Tiltable forward.
Picture
The first impression we get of the screen with the factory settings is that the picture is too bright. You can compensate somewhat by using the settings, but the screen is still the standard when it comes to brightness. If you want some of the menu you will find, however the ability to give the screen a warmer feel, who continued bringing light levels up to normal. You have the option to choose between four preset calibrations, respectively, cold, normal, warm and custom. From the factory, it is the latter that are active, but this is mentioned very bright colors. By selecting "normal" is it really much better, which is quite weird because made from the manufacturer's page. "Cold" is fast blue. Using the RGB adjustment is just free to how you want the colors. The quality of the angle is variable. White draws very fast towards the red from the pages, but it works fine when viewing it from above and below the page. The four other colors are acceptable colors for large-scale visibility angles. In practice tackling display images very well. Strong whites prefer something against blue, and red if you increase the angle. Skintones takler screen well. They can be a little red, but there is no talk about significant amounts of miss staining.
Angle
According to Samsung the screen will clear horizontally and 170 ˚ 150 ˚ vertical visibility. In theory this is good for a monitor in this class, and in practice it is ok that this is very good. We, however, could have required a somewhat greater angle vertically, but it is not essential.
Film
Also during the movie we see again the same problem as with photos. Bright scenes will get a little blue, but it is not talk about the big stuff. Beyond the screen is tackling both dark and bright scenes very well. With support for HDMI extended use, but we still see that tiny white draw against blue.
Play
With a response time of 5 ms announced, there was little hope of hitting a bulleyes in the matter. Responsiveness will be in default by the fastest games such as FPS (Call of Duty, Unreal ...). its delay display compared to a CRT monitor itself is less than two images on average. In practice this means that it will not be detrimental to your performance during the multiplayers online or LAN sessionAlthough Syncmaster T260 had some small problem with the colors on the photo front, raises it up during game play. Samsung provides a response time of 5 ms, a number we believe match reasonably well. The screen is tested in Battlefield 2, Half-Life 2 and Trackmania Nations. In addition, toys we look, and often in the flash game Bubble Trouble. These four games can often to lure the backlog and others on the test screen. With a response time of 5 ms, one can expect to find some backlog at easy, as is the case. By running around in Half Life 2 while turning the game around with a crowbar, most monitors experience lagging, but it is not particularly bad in T260s case. At normal playback, you will not notice this backlog, even with a horde of Americans who are against you in Battlefield 2. In the game, Bubble Trouble, even the fastest screen struggling to keep away the shadows of the big red ball. We must look long before we see a small shadow on the screen, which is a very good sign.
Conclusion
Samsung Syncmaster T260 can be described as a pure eye candy, as long as you just think of the look. It is marketed as a multimedia display, but in our opinion, the quality is best suited to gaming. Other qualities are very good, but it lacks that little extra clarity of the image. When the screen is as big as this, you do not need to use it only to the data. Especially not when it has input for HDMI. Do you buy the version of the screen with HD support, you also get with scart connection. The menu is very simple and user friendly, and has many fine adjustments. I Think you Can go for it
Good
* Aspect Ratio
* Full HD
* rotary Foot
* Contrast
* Touch button (on / off)
Bad
* Misplaced USB connectors
* No HDMI cable supplied
* No wall mount
