Yahoo mail, search, messenger set for a revamp soon
Yahoo products and services around the world are set for a revamp soon. Yahoo mail, Yahoo Messenger, search -- Yahoo's key focus areas in India -- will also undergo changes aimed towards making the Yahoo Web experience "richer, personalized and easier."
Yahoo Mail Minty is a project for Yahoo Mail revamp, wherein the new improved Yahoo Mail will have a new interface, social networking features and improved speed. According to a Business Line report, Yahoo is testing the beta version of the new revamped Yahoo Mail Minty interface in U.S. Similarly, Yahoo said its new and improved search, Yahoo mail, Yahoo Messenger, and other products are going to be better and more personalised in the coming months.
Yahoo search will offer more than just search results, after the revamp. A Yahoo search term will show related events, images, video and Twitter information -- all probably in the same page, said Blake Irving, Executive Vice-President and Chief Product Officer, Yahoo. Yahoo Groups will try to add social networking features similar to Facebook.
Yahoo's new and improved innovations would address both desktop and mobile handheld devices in the coming months. Yahoo will have unique offerings for iPhone and Android smartphone platforms, and the iPad will get a Yahoo homepage tailored for the product, different from how we Yahoo on our PC browsers. Yahoo Messenger is set to become sleeker and easier to organise would be better linked with Facebook and Twitter.
