Sony Ericsson Launches Xperia X8 in India for Rs. 13,900

After being made available to other Asian countries (like Singapore) Sony Ericsson has finally launched the Xperia X8 Android smartphone in India for a price of Rs. 13,900. Sony Ericsson had first revealed the phone to Indian audiences back in August alongside other phones like the Aspen, the Cedar, the Zylo and the Spiro. While all the other phones have hit the market, we were still awaiting the Xperia X8.

While we have already stated the X8's features in a previous story, here's a refresher for those who have just tuned in. The Xperia X8 supports GSM GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900, UMTS HSPA 900/2100 and UMTS HSPA 800/850/1900/2100. Xperia X8 has a 3.2 megapixels camera and also has function which allows user to directly upload the pictures to Facebook. In terms of messaging, it has functions like Push email, Instant messaging, Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync support with Dataviz RoadSync, Picture messaging (MMS), Predictive text input.

Xperia X8 also has location based service like A-GPS, Google Maps, Wisepilot turn-by-turn navigation in selected regions. It comes with a 2GB microSD card which can be upgraded up to 16GB. The phone has a internal memory of 128 MB.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 can be bought from Flipkart at Rs. 13,950 (with free delivery and C.O.D.) and from Univercell at Rs. 14,400.
